BODYGUARD star Richard Madden has delighted his 1.6 million Instagram fans today after he shared an adorable throwback photo from his school days.

The Scottish actor, who plays Sergeant David Budd on the BBC series, recently revealed he was bullied at school for being overweight.

And now his latest social media post left his followers commenting in their droves about his transformation.

The snapshot showcased a smiling 12-year-old Richard, now 32, in his school uniform.

Captioning the cute photo, the TV hunk, who has appeared on Game of Thrones, wrote: “TB to me 20 years ago. #nofilter”.

The adorable shot of Richard from yesteryear left his fans in awe at how he’s matured since his schooldays.

The TV heartthrob said: “My high school was really rough. Growing up was just constant humiliation really.

“I went to youth ­theatre to try and get a bit more confidence.

“In hindsight maybe not the best move to try and fit into a rough, very masculine school to say, ‘Now I do song and dance!’”

Richard, who grew up in Elderslie, Renfrewshire, also told GQ magazine he developed a 38in waist as a child actor.

He added: “I didn’t wear denim until I was 19 because my mum couldn’t take jeans up. So I wore f***ing chinos.”

The effect of being bullied “is still a huge hangover around me,” he said.
