Disney fans – this one’s for you. Iconic wellington boots company Hunter has launched an exclusive collection based on the upcoming release of the new Mary Poppins film.
The collaboration with Disney features the classic welly boots, in both short and long styles, and an umbrella to help you channel your inner Mary Poppins.
The collection also includes the exclusive Mary Bag – a new design created especially for the launch – based on the bottomless carpet bag from the first film.
Every item features the design of Poppins’ iconic silhouette as she flutters down from the sky, brolly aloft.
‘At Hunter we have a strong heritage of innovation spanning 160 years and as such our products have been worn by many generations,’ says Alasdhair Willis, Hunter’s creative director.
‘When we had the opportunity to collaborate with Disney on Mary Poppins Returns – a story set in London – it felt like a unique opportunity we couldn’t miss to celebrate our shared British heritage, spirit of adventure and appeal to the whole family.’
The new movie is based on The Mary Poppins Stories by PL Travers and is due to be released this Christmas. Directed by Rob Marshall, the film stars Emily Blunt as the unconventional nanny and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who plays her friend Jack – an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light and life to the streets of London.
Set in 1930s London, 24 years after the events of the first film, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy that’s missing in their lives following a personal loss.
The camouflage design cleverly incorporates the iconic Disney imagery- in a celebration of all thing Mary Poppins. The bubble umbrella comes in either midnight blue or seaweed green, and boasts a rubberised handle and durable hook grip, as well as the exclusive print.
While the Mary Bag might not hold quite as many delights as the original bag from the movie, it still looks pretty great and has a water-resistant leather exterior, so you’ll be prepared whatever the weather.
The playful range is still subtle enough to allow you to look grown-up, while still professing your undying love for all things Disney. It could help you look practically perfect in every way this winter.
