Jessica Simpson proved she’s not one to get affected by trolls as she shared a smiling selfie on Instagram.
The singer and actress came under fire last week after for dyeing her seven-year-old daughter Maxwell’s hair.
But she cast the backlash aside on Thursday, as she shared a black and white snap on social media, captioning it simply: ‘Smile.’
The snap came shortly after her Instagram comments were turned on again, after being disabled amid the mum-shaming furore.
Jessica was trolled relentlessly after sharing snaps of Maxwell in a salon chair with foil wrapped around the tips of her hair.
When fans saw the end result, which saw Maxwell sporting a pink and purple balayage style, some suggested that she was too young for her hair to be ‘ruined’.
‘Isn’t she too young to have her hair dyed?’ one asked, while another follower added: ‘So sad to see a child this young getting her hair dyed.’
However, others defended the decision and reminded people that hair grows out and it’s not the first nor the last time young children will want to dye their hair.
Pink also hit out at the mum-shamers and dyed her own eight-year-old daughter Willow Sage’s hair blue in defiance.
The 39-year-old – real name Alecia Moore – shared a photo of Willow’s new ‘do and wrote: ‘I heard people were bummed on Jessica Simpson for letting her seven-year-old get her hair colored.’
‘So we thought we’d share what we did yesterday.’
She then ended with a slew of sassy hashtags: ‘#bluehairdontcare #getyourownkids #parentpoliceareactuallyjustlonelysadpeople #illdyeyourhairtoolosers #ohlookmanocomments.’
