A good snack to tide fans over before the show returns (Picture: BBC)With just over a month to wait until fans get to see the new batch of celebrity contestants shimmy onto the dancefloor – including former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, EastEnders stars Maisie Smith and Jamie Laing – the Beeb is giving viewers a little treat tonight in the form of a Strictly special.
Strictly Come Dancing: Best Of begins airing, a four-part series which looks back at iconic, memorable and standout moments from the show’s past 16 years.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Best Of starts tonight, Saturday September 19, on BBC One.
The action will kick off at 7:30pm.

Tonight’s episode will focus on the best of Strictly’s Movie Week.
Who is taking part?
In the first look at the special, fans got to see presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman appear, along with judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse.
Bruno Tonioli, who will appear on some upcoming episodes via video link in the States, put in an appearance in the teaser of tonight’s ‘movie night’-themed episode too.
Oti Mabuse – who was the professional half of the Strictly 2019 champions alongside Emmerdale actor Kevin Fletcher – is also seen with her glitterball trophy.
Other stars expected to appear include pro dancers Giovanni Pernice and Katya Jones.
The official synopsis for tonight’s episode reads: ‘Tess and Claudia are joined by the judges, the professional dancers and some special celebrity guests as they reminisce about the iconic, the weird and the wonderful memories from movie weeks across the years.
Expect to relive some glorious moments from the show’s history, which could include recent champs Oti and Kelvin. (Picture: MWE/GC Images)‘Relive the jaw-dropping routines, crazy costumes and amazing group dances of this much-loved theme week.’
In terms of the new series, no official date has been given for the start of Strictly Come Dancing 2020, it’s widely reported that the show is expected to launch around the end of October.
