American Murder: The Family Next Door making killer Chris Watts ‘feel awful’

Chris pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife and daughters (Picture: Getty)New Netflix documentary American Murder: The Family Next Door is apparently making killer Chris Watts ‘feel awful’ about his crimes.

And we can’t say we’re sympathetic in the slightest.

Chris is currently serving life without parole for murdering his wife Shanann, their two daughters Belle, four, and Cece, three, and their unborn son Nico back in 2018.

In the new documentary, his text and social media posts are aired to the world, with a perfect family life in public hiding a struggling marriage behind-the-scenes.

According to People, Chris isn’t happy that his messages, which uncover his affair and deceit to his frustrated wife, are being put on blast.

A source told them: ‘He can’t see [the film], and he’ll probably never see it.

‘He’s curious about it, but he hates even knowing that his texts are out there for the public to read. It brings back awful memories of 2018 for him.’

Chris murdered a pregnant Shanann and their two daughters (Picture: Netflix)On August 13, 2018, Chris killed his wife after she discovered his affair, and buried her body in a shallow grave near where he worked.

After that, he smothered his two girls, before throwing their bodies into an oil tank.

To everyone outside the relationship, they had the perfect marriage (Credits: Shanann Watts/Netflix/2020)On returning home, he proceeded to pretend to police he didn’t know where his family was when they were reported missing.

Across the following three days, he later claimed that he killed Shanann after she smothered the girls, and then eventually confessed that he murdered them all.

It’s believed he did so in order to be with his new girlfriend, Nichol Kessinger, after he lied to her and claimed that he was separated from Shanann when they started dating.

On discovering his deception, as well as the fact Shanann was pregnant, Nichol willingly assisted the police in their investigation, wanting nothing more to do with him.

American Murder: The Family Next Door is available now on Netflix.
