RHOA: What We Know About Cynthia Bailey’s Upcoming Pandemic Wedding

Despite the ongoing pandemic, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey is still set to get married to Mike Hill. While the cast continues filming season 13, details have surfaced about Bailey’s upcoming wedding.

RHOA fans celebrated Bailey’s engagement in season 12. After watching her get married and divorced from ex-husband Peter Thomas in earlier seasons, it was a joy for viewers to see “Fifty Cent” get another chance at love. Bailey has been a full-time housewife on the hit series since season three. In her first season, viewers got to see her in the planning stage for her elaborate museum wedding to Thomas. However, on the day of their nuptials, Bailey shared her history of getting cold feet and being a runaway bride. Though she went on to marry Thomas, their divorce was on the horizon by season 10. Now, after meeting Mike Hill through their mutual friend Steve Harvey, the couple is madly in love and headed towards wedding bells. But how has quarantine affected their wedding plans?

The newlyweds-to-be have strict COVID-19 precautions in place for their big day. “Instead of focusing on the accessories in my hair or what kind of food we’re going to have, Mike and I have been putting most of our wedding energy into COVID-19 protocols,” Bailey told Page Six. “And we ain’t playin’ around.” Prior to the pandemic, Bailey and Hill already had their wedding date set for 10/10/20. But once the pandemic landed in full force earlier this year, the status of their wedding was up in the air. Now that the country is leading the world in coronavirus cases, Bailey and Hill have hired security to ensure their wedding guests are the wearing required face masks and shield they’ll be giving out.

“If anyone doesn’t adhere to the rules, then they’re just going to be asked to leave,” Bailey declared. “We’re taking this seriously, we want to protect ourselves and our guests.” What are some safety precautions their 250 confirmed guests can expect? “We have sanitizing stations, we have an actual basin to wash your hands in before you enter the venue, we have temperature checks and the way the venue is set up, you can be indoors or outdoors the entire time if you want to,” Bailey confirmed. But, what does this mean in regards to social distancing? Well, Bailey and Hill have that covered as well. “You don’t have to sit at a table with people you don’t know, you can kind of move around. It’s a huge space, so you can be as far away from people as you want while still feeling connected to the ceremony.”

Sounds like a smart setup for the “chill” couple. Cameras will be rolling during the ceremony, which includes fellow housewives Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, and former RHOA castmate Eva Marcille as bridesmaids. NeNe Leakes recently announced her departure from the show and while she and Bailey were at odds last season, the supermodel did confirm that Leakes was sent an invitation but hasn’t yet RSVPed.
