The EastEnders actress sadly died in December at the age of 83 following a battle with Alzheimer’s.

Details of her funeral service have now been revealed, with Dame Barbara set to be cremated at Golders Green Crematorium in London on Friday afternoon.

It will be a private service with the number of mourners limited due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

A JustGiving page has been set up as a tribute to the late actress and in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK, raising nearly £140,000 so far.

Christopher Biggins, who was a close friend of Dame Barbara’s, recently revealed that he will speak at the funeral service.

The Porridge actor said on Steph’s Packed Lunch last month: ‘I’m very honoured because you can only have 30 people at the funeral, and I am one of the speakers.

‘Anna Karen is speaking about her early life, I’m speaking about the middle part of her life and Ross [Kemp] from EastEnders is talking about that part of her life.

‘It will be very, very sad. I wish there was a way that we could record it so people can watch it online. ‘It’s going to be a terrible day, it’s in January but we’re all there for [Scott Mitchell, Dame Barbara’s husband] and for her. She was very special.’
