Police in Newport News, Virginia, responded to a possible shooting at a local high school on Monday afternoon.

“Police are on scene of a shooting at Heritage High School,” the department said in a statement. “Students are being evacuated and sent to the tennis courts. Parents can meet them there. Media stage in front of Fire Station 7.”

There is a major police presence at the school, WAVY reported, and the local FBI field office has been dispatched to assist in an investigation into the shooting, ABC reporter Alex Mallin said on Twitter.

It’s unclear if anyone was injured.
